MEMORANDUM
DATE: March 7, 1996
TO: Mayor and City Council

Ryan Schroeder, City Administrator
James Gromberg, Economic Development Coordinator

FROM: Economic Development Commission
SUBJECT: Highway #10 Service Road

The Ramsey Economic Development Commission has reviewed the development of a
service road along the north side of Highway #10 between Ramsey Boulevard NW and
Sunfish Lake Boulevard NW. In reviewing the proposed location for the roadway, the
Commission reviewed the following information:

Location of current businesses along the affected area along Highway #10

Location of the service roadway (front of properties or rear of properties)

Construction costs of the roadway (excluding acquisition costs)

Existence of currently controlled right-of-way along the Highway #10 corridor

Based upon review of the above information, the Commission recommends that the City
Council continue to acquire right-of-way with any developments along the corridor. In
addition, the Commission recommends that the City Council begin the planning and
acquisition of the needed right-of-way for completion of the service road. This planning
process should include conducting a meeting with the affected property owners to discuss
their opinions and ideas concerning the roadway development.
