CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, November 9, <br />2004, at the Ramsey Fire Station Number I, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Todd Cook <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember A1 Pearson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Assistant Director of Public Works Brian Olson <br />Assistant Public Works Director Patrick Trudgeon <br />Police Chief Jim Way <br />Bill Baxley, BKV Group <br />Ted Redmond, BKV Group <br />Cheryl Badinger, 3D/I <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the City Council Work Session to order at 6:05 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />The agenda was approved as submitted. <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Update of Police & City Hall Facility (New Ramsey Municipal Center) <br /> <br />Mr. Redmond reviewed the project background for the City of Ramsey Municipal Center, <br />including information of how the City arrived at where they are today. At this point they have <br />completed the schematic design process and are moving into a more detailed design where they <br />start looking at the finer components of the building, such as mechanical and electrical systems. <br />He explained to get to this point they have had a number of meetings, and have been meeting <br />with the Facilities Committee every other week. They have also had a number of user group <br />meetings with each department to focus specifically on their space and make sure their needs are <br />being anticipated properly. The facility is engineered for a 10 to 15 year growth expectancy.
