MEMO <br /> <br />Case # 8 <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />December 8, 2004 <br /> <br />Economic Development Authority (EDA) <br /> <br />Megan Wald and Sean Sullivan <br /> <br />Staff Update <br /> <br />Town Center: The Planning Commission will be reviewing the site plan for the Pond Building <br />in Ramsey Town Center 3rd Addition on Thursday, December 2, 2004. The site plan is proposing <br />to construct a 9,200 square foot multi-tenant restaurant building. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission will be reviewing the preliminary site plan for the Ramsey Municipal <br />Center on December 2, 2004. The City is proposing to develop a 69,070 square foot municipal <br />center consisting of a two story City Hall and a one story Police Station. <br /> <br />New Business Prospects: <br /> <br />The accounting firm from Andover has decided to construct a 2 Story office building on the <br />Martin site. Details of the development agreement are yet to be worked out but this stands to be <br />an excellent project in the Critical Blight Redevelopment Area. Construction should start when <br />the frost is out of the ground next Spring. <br /> <br />Staff has met with a machine shop that has interest in building a 10,000 s.f. shop on the Hanson <br />property. Negotiations have gone well to this point and the prospect is putting together a <br />financing package for the project. Staff looks forward to this project breaking ground sometime <br />next Spring. <br /> <br />The City is still waiting for a response from the RFP submitted in July for an unnamed 100,000 <br />S.F. manufacturer. Updates will be provided when new information is available. Staff is <br />recommending property located in Sunfish Lake Business Park to the prospective business. <br /> <br />New Developments (residential and commercial): <br /> <br />On December 2, 2004, the Planning Commission will be reviewing the site plan for the <br />development of a 12,000 square foot office building on the property located adjacent to the old <br />Amoco Station off of Highway #47 and Xkimo Street. <br /> <br />Business Grand Openings:. None to report. <br /> <br />Marketing Initiatives: Staff will begin working on the direct marketing mailing upon <br />completion of the NAIOP mailing. <br /> <br />Business Communication Initiatives: Staff is scheduled to tape the next Business Connection <br />on December 8, 2004. Chair Chris Riley will be assisting with the program along with two staff <br />members from Community First Bank. <br /> <br /> <br />
