ordinary high water mark set back it would significantly impact the amount of <br />buildable area left on the properties. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Shumway and seconded by Commissioner Prall to recommend <br />that the City require a 35 foot easement through Riverview Estates to satisfy <br />the park dedication requirements. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Lichter, Commissioners Shumway, Johnson <br />and Prall. Voting No: Commissioner Lokker. Absent: Commissioners Hetland <br />and Rustad. <br /> <br />Case ~5 Discuss proposed trail/sidewalk ordinance <br /> <br />Commissioner Shumway stated that he did not think the Commission should accept <br />this ordinance due to the fact that with the 6% grade restriction it would be a <br />boring trail system and very costly. <br /> <br />Chairman Lichter advised Commissioner Shumway to give Merland Otto some facts <br />on what he knows and see what Merland Otto can do with it. <br /> <br />The consensus of the Commission was to table this issue until the November <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Case ~6 Ri¥~r's Bend Park development <br /> <br />Merland Otto showed the Commission a tentative concept for the trails going <br />through River's Bend. The preliminary cost is about $225,000 and the City has <br />about $150,000 to $160,000. Merland told the Commission that he was going to <br />continue working on this as a potential project. <br /> <br />Case #7 Rodeo Hills - Outlots C & D <br /> <br />Merland Otto told the Commission that there are two outlots in Rodeo Hills that <br />Mr. Borchert wants to make buildable. Since the City does not need a park in <br />that area he recommends that the Park and Recreation Commission require cash to <br />satisfy the City's park dedication requirements. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Shumway and seconded by Commissioner Lokker to table <br />this issue until it goes through the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Lichter, Commissioners Shumway, L okker, <br />Johnson and Prall. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Hetland and <br />Rustad. <br /> <br />COMMISSION INPUT <br /> <br />Chairman Lichter told the Commission that he received a call and a letter from <br />Roy Newc omb stating that he approved of the trail system. <br /> <br />Merland Otto told the Commission that he received a letter and a petition, with <br />60 signatures, requesting that the Commission include playground equipment for <br />River's Bend Park in the 1989 budget. <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/October 20, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 3 of 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
