Service Area Line and authorizing staff to submit the Comprehensive Plan amendment to the <br />Met Council (Lot 10, Pineview Estates 2~,a Addition). <br /> <br />Motion can'ied. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Anderson, Hendriksen, and <br />Kurak. Voting No: Councilmember and Zimmerman. <br /> <br />Text Amendments <br /> <br />Principal Planner Trudgeon stated that the Council had been working on several text amendment <br />changes to the Comprehensive Plan. The Planning Commission recommended unanimously to <br />approve the text changes. <br /> <br />Councihnember Anderson noted some grammatical changes to the wording. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to adopt <br />Resolution #02-02-069 approving an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan and authorizing <br />City staff to submit the Comprehensive Plan amendment to the Met Council (Text amendments <br />to the 2001 plan). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Hendriksen, Anderson, Kurak <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />James Overtoom <br /> <br />Principal Planner Trudgeon stated that the City received a request to remove the graphics from <br />the Comprehensive Plan showing the extension of 167th Avenue, east of Variolite Street. The <br />Planning Commission recommended unanimously to delete the graphic from future <br />transportation maps. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that the reason the line was drawn was for MUSA funds and inquired, if <br />they remove the line, can they change it to another area. <br /> <br />City Engineer Olson replied that they could do so, but the difficulty is where does the Council <br />want a major collector to go through the City. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec recommended discussing the issue further at a future Public Works Committee <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that there needs to be some connection from C.R. #5 to <br />Variolite. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to delete the graphic <br />from the Comprehensive Plan showing the extension of 167t~' Avenue east of Variolite Street and <br />replace the connection in a different location in the future. <br /> <br />City Council/February 26, 2002 <br /> Page 25 of 35 <br /> <br /> <br />
