15, Gravity Distribut'ion. <br /> <br /> (a) The four-inch distribution pipes shall be rigid plastic with holes <br />at least one-half inch diameter spaced no further than 36 inches. One row of holes <br />shall be laid at the bottom of the pipe. <br /> <br /> (b) The distribution pipe shall slope downward two inches per 100 feet away <br />from the distribution box. <br /> <br />(c) The far ends of the distribution pipe shall be connected. <br /> <br /> (d) The distribution pipes shall be spaced no further than five feet apart <br />and no further than 30 inches from the edge of the filter material. <br /> <br />(e) The distribution pipes shall connect to the outlets of a distribution box. <br /> <br /> 16. The quantity of effluent per pump dose shall be at least 150 gallons per <br />bedroom for dwellings. For other establishments the dose shall be at least 25 per- <br />cent of the estimated or measured daily sewage flow. <br /> <br /> 17. At least two inches of filter material shall be placed over the lateral <br />or distribution pipes. <br /> <br /> 18. Straw or marsh hay to an uncompacted depth of three to four inches <br />shall be placed over the filter material. <br /> <br /> 19. Construction vehicles shall not be allowed on the filter material until <br />backfill is placed. <br /> <br /> 20. Sandy loam soil shall be placed on the filter material to a depth of <br />one foot in the center of the mound and to a depth of six inches at the sides. <br /> <br /> 21. A maximum of two ten-foot wide beds may be installed side by side in <br />a single mound if the soil percolation rate is between five and sixty minutes per <br />inch to a depth of at least 24 inches below the sand layer. The beds shall be <br />separated by four feet of sand. <br /> <br /> 22. When two beds are installed side by side the sandy loam fill at the center <br />of the mound shall be 18 inches deep and six inches deep at the sides. <br /> <br /> 23. Six inches of topsoil shall be placed on the fill material over the <br />entire area of the mound. <br /> <br />2O <br /> <br /> <br />
