The population-employment-household forecasts which are enclosed have also been.
adopted as part of the Metropolitan DeVelopment Framework. We would advise that
they be used as a base in the preparation of your comprehensive plan. Of the
metropolitan systems plans, only the n~w aviation plan incorporates the new fore-
casts, however. The Council will be evaluating the other policy plans dealing
with water quality management, transportation and parks for any possible changes
during the com.ing year, but no major changes resulting from the revisions in the
forecasts are anticipated at this time.

The revised forecasts mak'e it necessary t° amend 1990 server flow and traffic estimates
in your system statement. The CoUncil's re-evaluation of its system plans will assume
the total 1990 sewer flow'from your community will not exceed · 48 million gallons
per day and that the total number of pe~'son trips in 1990 will be about 50,000 per day.
These new assumptions should be usediin Your local planning instead of those in your
system statement, and you may appeal !these two system statement amendments ~vithin
60 days using the reconciliation proCedure specified in the Metropolitan Land Planning
Act.

When and if any significant changes are Proposed in metropolitan systems plans based
on the new forecasts or on other planning ~vork, such as the 208 Water Quality Study
now being conducted, you will be informed and will have the opportunity to
participate in Council deliberation's.

If you have any questions about t~e enCloSed changes, please call Bob Mazanec
at 291-6330.

Sincerely,

METROPOLITAN COUNCIL

l~m Boland
Chairman

IB:emp
Enclosure s
