AIRPORTS <br /> <br />The information in this section is based upon the Aviation Chapter of <br />the Metropolitan Development Guide (MDG) (as authorized under M.S. 473.145) <br />and adopted by the Metropolitan Council in December, 1977. <br /> <br />Also included, is information obtained from the Metropolitan Airports <br />Commission (MAC) and references those rules, regulations, standards, etc. <br />of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Minnesota Department of <br />Transportation (Mn/DOT), and Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) <br />necessary for the planning, development and operation of aviation <br />facilities-in the metropolitan region. <br /> <br />The Aviation Development Guide should be considered when Ramsey prepares <br />its comprehensive plan.* <br /> <br />FACILITIES <br /> <br />Gateway North Industrial Airport (Existing) <br /> <br />Character <br /> <br />Gateway North is a general aviation airport; it <br />is privately owned and-operated for public use. <br />This facility has two turf runways: 2700' x 150' <br />and 2200' x 150'. Visual flying rules (VFR) <br />apply to aircraft operations at this airport. <br /> <br />Location <br /> <br />Gateway North is located in the City of Ramsey, <br />in Section 27 (Map BI). <br /> <br />Function <br /> <br />This airport provides service to operators of <br />light single-engine propeller aircraft. This <br />facility is considered an industrial airport. <br /> <br />Capacity <br /> <br />Estimates of practical annual capacity have not <br />been developed for this facility. <br /> <br />Timing of Future <br />Improvements <br /> <br />Development of this facility is g~nerally at the <br />owner's discretion, subject to a number of <br />federal, state, metropolitan and local reviews <br />and approvals.. <br /> <br />Conditionf on Use <br /> <br />The conditions on operation and development of <br />Gateway North Industrial Airport affect primarily <br />the owner of this facility and are, therfore, <br />omitted here. <br /> <br />*See M.S. 473.859 for comprehensive plan definition. <br /> <br /> <br />
