CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a work session on Monday, April 8, 2002, at the Ramsey <br />Fire Station Number II, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Sergeant Jim Way <br />City Clerk Jo Thieling <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the work session of the City Council to order at 6:20 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />There was none. <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS <br /> <br />1) Snowmobile Ordinance <br /> <br />Sergeant Way discussed the snowmobile problems that have occurred over the last several years. <br />He explained that the Police Department has been considering the re-writing of the snowmobile <br />ordinance to identify a no snowmobile zone south of 159th Avenue unless they are on private <br />property. <br /> <br />Councihnember Kurak inquired if people would be allowed to snowmobile along County ditches <br />south of 159"~ Avenue. <br /> <br />Sergeant Way replied no. He explained that the ordinance the Police Department was <br />recommending was similar to Andover's ordinance. The ordinance would also prohibit the use <br />of ATV's and other recreational vehicles south of 159th Avenue.
