Department received 42 snowmobile complaints this year and 30 of those complaints were south of 159~h Avenue. Mayor Gamec stated that they have warned snowmobilers many times and yet there continues to be abuse so hopefully restricting their use will make people understand that they have to be respectful of other people's property. Councilmember Kurak inquired if it was possible for someone to bring their snowmobile to a lake to snowmobile on if there is a City park accessing the lake. Sergeant Way replied no, unless the Council would make that determination. Presently there is no snowmobiling permitted in any City park. Councihnember Zimmerman stated that he felt that the hours of operation should be limited to 10:00 p.m. Sergeant Way noted that the hours of operation were adopted seven or eight years ago. City Administrator Norman inquired as to what other Councilmembers thoughts were on the hours of operation. Mayor Gamec inquired as to what the State requirement was. Sergeant Way replied that he did not believe that there was a State requirement. Mayor Gamec stated that he would agree with a 10:00 p.m. restriction on the weekdays. Councihnember Zimmerman recommended a 12:00 a.m. restriction on the weekends. Consensus of the Council was to change the hours of operation to 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. Sergeant Way noted that the two neighboring cities have the same time restrictions as in the City's current policy. Mayor Gamec stated that he thought the time should be left at 1:00 a.m. for Fridays and Saturdays. Councilmember Hendriksen stated that he did not feel real strongly either way. Consensus of the Council was to keep the hours of operation for Friday and Saturday at 1:00 a.m. Councilmember Anderson inquired if the Police Department expected to collect a lot of fines with the new policy.
