10 Minutes Case ~ 5 <br /> <br />MSAS - 5 YEAR CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM. <br /> By: Pete Raatikka, City Engineer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Mn/DOT nas requested ~hat all city engineers submit five (5) year <br />construction programs for state aid street improvements by January 15, <br />1988. These 5 year programs are required by Mn/DOT every three years <br />and must be approved by City Council resolution. <br /> <br />Based on the city's State Aid Construction Balance on September 1, <br />1988 of $596,206 and an estimated annual construction allotment of <br />$433,983, the city of Ramsey will have $2,3B2,138 for State Aid <br />Projects through 1992. Two projects are currently in progress which <br />will cost an estimated $850,000. The estimated state aid expenditure <br />on the Front Street and Sunfish Lake Blvd. project is $470,000 and the <br />estimated state aid expenditure on the 153rd Avenue project is <br />$380,000. Therefore, the remaining funds available through 1992 <br />amount to $1,482,138. <br /> <br />The Road and Bridge Committee met at 7:00 a.m., December 16, 1988 at <br />County Bob's Restaurant to discuss the 5 year construction program. <br />Members present were councilman A1 Pearson, councilman A1 Sorteberg, <br />public works superintendent Merle Mevissen and myself. It was the <br />consensus cf the cor~ittee to use the available MSAS funds cn !SBrd <br />Avenue N.W. which is the proposed east-west corridor in the city. <br /> <br />5ncicsed are the following items for your information: <br /> <br />a) A copy of the City's current MSAS 5 year construction program <br /> dated June 30, 1985. <br />b) A proposed MSAS 5 year construction program. <br />c) Resolution approving the Municipal State Aid street system 5 year <br /> construction program for Ramsey. <br /> <br />Recor~endaticns: <br /> <br />The Road and Bridge ComMittee recommends the approval of the MSAS 5 <br />year construction.~rc~ram~ which would u'~ze~_,_ the City"s ='~"~=~_e !,~'~ ~ <br />funds on !52rd Avenue N.W. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Kozicn to: <br />Adopt Resc!ution ~88- <br />program for Ramsey. <br /> <br />approving the MSAS system 5 year construction <br /> <br />Review; Checklist: <br /> <br />A~ministratcr <br />Attorney <br />Engineer <br />Cor~..
