PC CASE CONSIDER APPROVAL OF 2005 DEPARTMENT REORGANIZATIONS Givonna Reed, Human Resources Manager Background At its November 30, 2004 work session, the City Council gave staff authorization to present several proposed departmental organizational changes for approval at the December 14, 2004 City Council meeting. Staff Recommendation Staff recommends that the following changes to the City's organizational structure be adopted: Public Works · Create a Utilities Division by moving two Maintenance Workers from their current division(s) to the newly created Utilities Division. Fire Department · Create a part-time Fire Secretary position · Promote the current Fire Inspector to Fire Marshall Community Development · Promote the current Assistant Community Development Director to Director and reclassify the current Community Development Director to Assistant Community Development Director/HRA Executive Director. Finance · Move the TIF Specialist from the Finance Department to the Community Development Department. · Create an Assistant Finance Officer position Committee Action: 1. Motion to recommend that the City Council create a Utilities Division by moving two Maintenance Workers from their current division(s) to the newly created Utilities Division. 2. Motion to recommend that the City Council create a part-time Fire Secretary position 3. Motion to recommend that the City Council promote the current Fire Inspector to Fire Marshall 4.
