PC CASE <br /> <br />CONSIDER APPROVAL OF 2005 DEPARTMENT REORGANIZATIONS <br /> <br />Givonna Reed, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />At its November 30, 2004 work session, the City Council gave staff authorization to <br />present several proposed departmental organizational changes for approval at the <br />December 14, 2004 City Council meeting. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the following changes to the City's organizational structure be <br />adopted: <br /> <br />Public Works <br /> · Create a Utilities Division by moving two Maintenance Workers from their <br /> current division(s) to the newly created Utilities Division. <br /> <br />Fire Department · Create a part-time Fire Secretary position <br /> · Promote the current Fire Inspector to Fire Marshall <br /> <br />Community Development <br /> · Promote the current Assistant Community Development Director to Director and reclassify <br /> the current Community Development Director to Assistant Community Development <br /> Director/HRA Executive Director. <br /> <br />Finance · Move the TIF Specialist from the Finance Department to the Community Development <br /> Department. <br /> · Create an Assistant Finance Officer position <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br /> 1.
