Voting Yes: Mayor Garnet, Couneilmembers Kurak, and Anderson. <br />No: Councilmembers Hendriksen and Zimmerman. <br /> <br />Case #3: Introduce Ordinance to Adopt 2002 Building Permit Fees <br /> <br />Voting <br /> <br />Associate Planner Wald stated that the 2001 Legislature, in its regular and special sessions, made <br />several alnendments to statutes that apply to the Minnesota Building Codes and Standards <br />Division and the Minnesota Building C ode. One of the amendments is that municipal fees for <br />building construction must be adopted by ordinance. Ramsey adopts all rates and charges, <br />including building construction fees, by resolution annually. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to introduce an <br />ordinance to ratify the 2002 Building Construction fees. <br /> <br />Motion cmTied. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Kurak, Anderson, Hendriksen, <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #4: <br /> <br />Authorize the City Administrator to Prepare and Advertise Bids based Upon <br />Plans and Specifications for the Remodel of City Hall, Plan B <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson stated that at the March 26 City Council meeting, the <br />Council approved a resolution authorizing the City Administrator to enter into contracts with E <br />& V Construction Managers and BKV Group for remodeling of City Hall based upon Plan B as <br />presented and discussed in their March 19th work session. Since the March 26 approval, the City <br />Administrator and Assistant City Administrator have been working with the representatives from <br />E & V Construction Managers and BKV Group on the preparation of plans and specifications <br />and developing a schedule for construction. The next step in the process is to prepare and <br />advertise a bid package for the mechanical, electrical, demolition, and architectural contracts for <br />the project. Staff was anticipating a mid-June start date for construction. <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson inquired if there were going to be any asbestos concerns. <br /> <br />Assistant Administrator Nelson replied that E & V did do some initial inspections and did not <br />feel that it was going to be a large issue. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen, to adopt Resolution <br />#02-04-094 to authorize the City Administrator to prepare and advertise bids based upon plans <br />and specifications for the remodel of City Hall, Plan B. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Kurak, Hendriksen, Anderson, <br />and Zimmennan. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that he does think the sliding glass door will be problematic <br />and should be considered because it appeared as though the sliding glass door will have to be <br /> <br />City Council/April 9, 2002 <br />Page 10 of 14 <br /> <br /> <br />
