CASE 66:

SALE OF COMPUTER EQUIPMENT
By: Dave Hartley', City Administrator

Background:

In the process of converting over to the City's new computer system, parts of
the old system will continue to be used for the Police Department and terminals
will be used in the Finance Department. However, the City of Ramsey owns a
disk and tape drive unit which is not essential to the operations of either
department. The City of Champlin is in the process of trying to make their
data processing system extend for yet another year and is in need of this
equipment. I have reached an agreement with the City of Champlin for the sale
of our equipment for the price of $8,625. Along with this price,
ComputoService (the computer company supporting the Texas Instruments hardware
and software) has agreed to make the necessary software changes to our system
so that it will better accommodate our needs in the Police Department° I
believe this is a mutually acceptable solution for the City of Champlin and the
City of Ramsey.

Enclosed is a proposed resolution for your consideration.

Rec ommenda t i on:

Council Action:

Motion to:
Adopt Resolution f~88- ,
and approving of sale.

designating certain computer equipment as surplus

Review Checklist:

Administrator
Att orney
nineerommunzty Development Director

Chief of Police
Finance Officer
Public Works Superintendent
Other
