CAS~ ~ 18: <br /> <br />ESTABLISH RAHSEY CITY COUNCIL, PLANNING AND ZONING <br /> COMMISSION, AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br /> DELEGATION TO MEET WITH CITY OF ANOKA DELEGATION; <br /> CASE OF MCKINLEY EXTENSION <br /> By: Mark Banwart, C~mmunity Development Director <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Trunk Highway #10 Corridor Study, dated January 1988, concluded that for <br />good traffic flow and possible expansion of industrial portions of the City of <br />Ramsey, there should be an extension of McKinley Street connecting to the <br />Thurston Avenue bridge. This extension will require cooperation between the <br />Cities of Ramsey and Anoka, in that the Thurston Avenue bridge is located in <br />the City of Aaoka. Furthermore, the utilities (water and sewer) improvements <br />in Ramsey Industrial Park First Addition were in part made on the assumption <br />that: <br /> <br />1) <br />2) <br /> <br />McKinley Street would be extended; <br />The street extension would be considered as a Municipal State Aid <br />Road (MSA). <br /> <br />Ob servat ions: <br /> <br />On September 13, 1988 the Ramsey Economic Development Commission approved <br />a motion to hold a joint Economic Development Commission/Planning and Zoning <br />Commission meeting to discuss among other things the possible extension of <br />McKinley Street. On September 29, 1988 the joint Economic Development <br />Commission/Planning and Zoning Commission approved a motion to request the City <br />Council to send a delegation to the City of Anoka to arrange the extension. <br /> <br />Recommendations: <br /> <br />Council ~tion: <br /> <br />Motion to: <br />Establish a delegation representing the City of Ramsey in issues which <br />require potential agreements between the Cities of Anoka and Ramsey.
