PC CASE <br /> <br /> CONSIDER RATIFICATION OF HIRING <br /> OF PATROL OFFICER <br />By: Heidi Nelson, Assistant City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />As part of the 2005 budget, two Patrol, Officer positions were authorized. One of the <br />positions was hired in October of 2004. The second position was authorized for <br />recruitment at the December t4, 2004 regular meeting of City Council. Staff also <br />rcquested authorization to hire on December 14th due to the ability to hire from an <br />existing eligibility list established during the October 2004 recruitment. Council <br />authorized hiring from the existing lis[ and requested ratification of the hire at the first <br />regular meeting in January. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Sta fi is recom mending that the Personnel Committee ratify the hiring of James B onine as <br />a Patrol Officer at an hourly wage of $i9.05. Mr. Bonine began full-t/me employment <br />with the City on January 3, 2005. <br /> <br />This appointment is based upon successful completion of criminal and driver's license <br />background checks, reference checks, passing a pre-employment physical, drug screen, <br />physical agility test:and a psychological examination. With Council approval, the hiring <br />of Mr. Bonine will be ratified effective January 11, 2005. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />Motion recommending that the Personnel Committee ratify the hiring of James Bonine as <br />a Patrol Officer at an hourly wage of $1.9.05. This hiring is based upon successful <br />completion of criminal and driver's license background checks, reference checks, passing <br />a pre-employment physical, drug screen, physical agility test and a psychological <br />examination. All other personnel policies will apply normally. With Council approval, <br />Mt-.
