PC CASE # ~ <br /> <br />CONSIDER AUTHORIZING REASSIGNMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />LEADWORKER AND PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE WORKER TO <br />UTILITIES DIVISION <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />During the 2005 budget process, staff discussed with Council the reorganization of the <br />Public Works Department to three divisions of Parks, Utilities, and Streets. These <br />position re-assignments are the first in the process of creating divisions within Public <br />Works. Council will be updated regUlarly on the process and future re-assignments or <br />promotions will be brought forWard ~o Council for approval. Staff conducted an internal <br />recruitment for the positions, 'three applications were received and interviews were <br />conducted. <br /> <br />The two additional Public Works Maintenance Worker positions approved in the 2005 <br />budget will be hired to serve the Parks Division of Public Works. Job descriptions for <br />each of the divisions have been updated t° reflect the changes, however it is important to <br />note, that each job description requires cross-training in support of Parks, Streets, and <br />Utilities, as well as including snow-plowing/removal duties for all positions. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff is recommending reassigning John Nelson the position of Public Works Utilities <br />Leadworker and Jerome Dube to'the Position of Public Works Utilities Maintenance <br />Worker effective 01/12/2005. There are no funding requirements for these re- <br />assignments as pay scale adjustments are not recommended at this time. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend re-assigning John Nelson the position of Public Works Utilities <br />Leadworker and Jerome Dube to the position of Public Works Utilities Maintenance <br />Worker effective 01/12/2005. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />City Administrator <br />Director of Public Works <br /> <br />PC: 01/11/2005 <br /> <br /> <br />
