Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to adopt resolution <br />#02-08-187 accepting Tim Gladhill's resignation from the position of Public Works Maintenance <br />Worker effective August 16, 2002, and authorize staff to begin the process to fill the position of <br />Public Works Maintenance Worker. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, and Councilmembers Hendriksen, Kurak, <br />Anderson, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />s) <br /> <br />Receive Information about Resignation of Full-Time Clerk II and Authorize Hiring <br />of Full-Time Clerk II <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson stated that on July 29, 2002, Nanci Libor submitted her <br />resignation and gave a two-week notice with her last day of employment as August 9, 2002. As <br />a result of Ms. Libor's resignation, the position of Clerk II will be vacant. Staff requested <br />authorization to hire Amy Dietl, a candidate from the recruitment process that took place in May <br />for the position. With Council authorization, Ms. Dietl will begin work on August 19, 2002, at a <br />rate of $33,134 plus benefits and will accrue two weeks vacation per year. Ms. Dietl's hiring <br />would be continent on successful completion of background checks and passing an employment <br />physical and drug/alcohol screen. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Anderson, seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen, to adopt <br />Resolution #02-08-188 accepting Nanci Libor's resignation from the position of Clerk II <br />effective August 9, 2002, and to authorize staff to hire Amy Dietl for the position of Clerk II at a <br />rate of $33,134(annually) plus benefits and two weeks of accrued vacation per year. Ms. Dietl's <br />hiring is contingent on successful completion of background checks and passing an employment <br />physical and drug/alcohol screen. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Hendriksen inquired if it would make sense to explore the <br />option of having Ms. Libor continue the website work. Assistant City Administrator Nelson <br />replied yes. Councilmember Hendriksen replied that he would support that. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #11: Report from Finance Committee <br /> <br />1) Aerial Ladder Truck Bid Award <br /> <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Kapler stated that the 2002 budget included funding for the <br />purchase of an aerial ladder truck. The Fire Department Truck Committee created specifications <br />and solicited bids, (authorized on May 14, 2002).
