position of full-time Accounting Clerk at a starting wage of $30,129 (annually) plus benefits. <br />Ms. Loeffler would accrue two weeks vacation per year. The hiring would be contingent on <br />success ful completion o f background checks, employment physical and drug/alcohol screen. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to adopt Resolution #02-08-185 <br />ratifying the hiring of Jenny Loeffier for the position of full-time Accounting Clerk at a starting <br />wage of $30,129 (annually)/$14.49 (hourly), plus benefits and two weeks vacation, contingent on <br />successful completion of background checks, employment physical, and drug/alcohol screen. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, and Councilmembers Kurak, Anderson, <br />Hendriksen, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />3) Consider Ending Probationary Period of Patrol Officer <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson stated that Ben Rossum assumed the position of Patrol <br />Officer on July 9, 2001, and his one-year probationary period ended on July 10, 2002. His <br />performance has been reviewed by Sergeant Robert Kuhn and documented as satisfactory. <br />Based on a satisfactory one-year appraisal, staff recommended Mr. Rossum be retained as a <br />regular fitll-time employee. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to adopt Resolution <br />#02-08-186 ending probationary period for Patrol Officer Ben Rossum and granting the status of <br />regular full-time employee effective July 10, 2002. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Kapler stated that he has worked with <br />Mr. Rossum on the field and he has been a great addition to the Police Department. He stated <br />that Mr. Rossum is a real asset to the City. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, and Councilmembers Kurak, Anderson, <br />Hendriksen, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />4) <br /> <br />Receive Information about Resignation of Full-Time Public Works Maintenance <br />Worker and Authorize Process to Hire Full-Time Public Works Maintenance <br />Worker <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson stated that on August 2, 2002, Tim Gladhill, Public Works <br />Maintenance Worker, submitted his resignation and gave a two-week notice with his last day of <br />employment as August 16, 2002. As a result of Mr. Gladhill's resignation, a Public Works <br />Maintenance Worker position will be vacant.
