CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Monday, August 19, 2002, at the <br />Ramsey Fire Station Number II, 15050 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Principal City Engineer Brian Olson <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 7:15 p.m. and called <br />upon Councilmember Anderson to lead in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />David Elvig, Chairperson of the Town Center Task Force stated that he wanted to update the <br />Council on what the Task Force has been working on. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen suggested that the item be added as a Case and recommended that in <br />the future the updates be scheduled as a regular agenda item. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec directed Mr. Elvig to go ahead with his update. <br /> <br />Mr. Elvig stated that the Task Force has been working on drafting a zoning ordinance for the <br />town center. He explained that staff solicited about 20 different cities and received about 10 <br />responses regarding language they have used within their town center sites. The Task Force will <br />be focusing heavily on that over the next two meetings. At their next meeting there will be a <br />river crossing update, what is fact and what is fiction, and they will be receiving another package <br />from McCombs market survey. Jon Feges, heading up the development for Town Center, Inc. <br />will be making a presentation on design and criteria.
