Hall campus. The celebration is scheduled for Saturday, September 14, 2002. The Lions have <br />provided the necessary documents required. Under City Code, it is a permissible activity to grant <br />a 3.2 beer license to the Ramsey Lions Club. As has been done in the past, City staff is <br />requesting Council waive the $20 license fee. The Lions Club is non-profit and generously gives <br />to the community. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to approve <br />application for the Ramsey Lions Club for a one-day, 3.2 beer license for Happy Days, the City <br />of Ramsey community celebration to be held on Saturday, September 14, 2002. The license is <br />for the City Hall campus and waive the $20 temporary 3.2 beer license fee. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, and Councilmembers Hendriksen, Kurak, <br />Anderson, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #11: Report from the Public Works Committee <br /> <br />The Public Works Committee met on August 19, 2002, and discussed the following five cases: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />4) <br /> <br />Consider Expenditure for 2002 Priority Street Lights <br />The Public Works Committee recommended that staff review existing light placements <br />and bring back any suggestions on lights that should be moved due to safety concerns and <br />authorize the installation of 2002 street lights. <br /> <br />Update on Public Works Campus <br />The Public Works Committee recommended that staff begin necessary procedures to <br />locate a cul-de-sac at the intersection of Limonite Street NW and 142nd Avenue NW and <br />recommend that the City retain the Alloy Recovery property for Public Works purposes. <br /> <br />Discuss Bituminous Pavement Saw and Seal <br />The Public Works Committee recommended that the "saw and seal" process not be done <br />on the roads proposed by staff but direct staff to draft a policy that would give the City <br />Engineers the authority to require the "saw and seal" procedure on new streets if they <br />deem necessary, contingent upon staff having a conversation with the Crow County <br />Engineer. <br /> <br />Discussion of Safety Concerns at Alpine Drive and Ramsey Boulevard <br />The iPublic Works Committee recommended that staff request a warrant study from the <br />County and to schedule a neighborhood meeting. <br /> <br />City Council/September 11, 2002 <br /> Page 28 of 31 <br /> <br /> <br />
