Councilmember Hendriksen replied that in the absence of having a way of dealing with <br />conditional plan amendments they are kidding themselves. He stated that it did not sound like the <br />dialog with the Met Council was done. He felt that there should be more dialog with the Met <br />Council regarding the issue of having the benefits of the ordinance explained. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated that the Council should start moving forward with adoption of the <br />ordinance and during that process staff can be exploring further with the Met Council. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak inquired if the ordinance would still be a benefit even if the Met Council <br />does not give its approval. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich replied yes. <br /> <br />Councihnember Hendriksen stated that he does not want to adopt something that does not give <br />them the protection they want, but he did feel that they should proceed with the ordinance and <br />continue dialog with the Met Council. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich recommended separating the rezoning issues from the comprehensive <br />plan land use changes while discussing the issue with the Met Council since the Met Council <br />does not have anything to do with rezoning. <br /> <br />The Council agreed. <br /> <br />COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to adjourn the <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br />The work session of the City Council adjourned at 6:45 p.m. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />Nanci Libor <br />Recording Secretary <br />TimeSaver Off&Ye ,Secretarial, Inc. <br /> <br />City Council/September 24, 2002 <br /> Page 6 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
