Submitted herewith is the Coon Rapids <br />Charter Commission Report for the year 2003. <br /> <br />04/09/03 <br /> <br />Maurice McKee, Jean Raeutt, Janet L, Dahlman, Lewis Peterson and Isla B. Fichmer were <br />re-appointed to serve a second term expiring in March 2007. JerryNelson appointed to serve <br />his first four year term expiring in March, 2007. <br /> <br />04/15/03 <br /> <br />Meeting of the Comm/ssion for discussion and consideration of proposed City Code Section <br />2-403 designating the Council Member at Large as Mayor Pro-Tm and if the <br />Councilmember at Large chooses not to serve,- then another Councilmember would be <br />elected by Council to hold that position. Commission considered, and a majority of the <br />Commission were in favor of, the proposed ordinance. <br /> <br />Discussion of a reviSion to City Chaxter Section 1-710(2) eliminating formal approval of the <br />City's check register at each council meeting. Commission unanimously recommended <br />deletion of Section 1-710(2) entirely. <br /> <br />Discussion and consideration of amendments' to City Charter altering the time periods .for <br />introducing, adopting and repealing an ordinance. Commission recommended adoption of <br />City Charter Section 1-305 shorterfing the per/od between introduction and adoption of an <br />ordinance to a minimumof se~cn (7) days.
