Snowplowing Answers Help Keep Snow Away <br />and Information From Fire Hydrants <br />Information on the City Policy for Snow <br />Removal, Ice Control and Boulevard Staking <br />can be found on the City website at www.cityof- <br />ramsey.com/ramsey-streets-snowplowing. <br />The City of Ramsey also has an after-hours <br />snowplow information line at 763-433-9852, <br />which is updated and monitored during the <br />snowplow season. During regular business <br />hours you can contact the Public Works Depart- <br />ment directly at 763-433-9820. <br />Do Not Push or <br />Dump Snow or Ice <br />onto Roadway <br />As Old Man Winter tightens his hold on <br />Ramsey, there is an increasing temptation to <br />push driveway snow and ice into the <br />street. Unfortunately, this is very <br />hazardous to other residents walking <br />or driving on City streets. <br />MN Statute 160.2715 prohibits <br />the deposit of items, including snow <br />and ice, in the right-of-way. In an <br />effort to enforce this, Ramsey Officers <br />will issue a citation to the homeown- <br />ers if they see snow deposited onto the <br />roadway. Violators will be charged <br />with a misdemeanor, with a second <br />offense having a minimum fine of <br />$400.00. Snow piled or shoveled close to <br />hydrants restricts operation during a fire <br />emergency. <br />After a snowfall, the Public Works Department is responsible <br />for clearing snow from City streets. Depending on the amount <br />and type of snow, this could take several days. The City of Ramsey <br />Public Works staff is requesting your help in keeping fire hydrants <br />accessible. Thank you for your <br />efforts! <br />Garbage, Recycling Containers, <br />and Basketball Hoops <br />The City would like to remind you that garbage cans and <br />recycling containers should be kept offthe street.
