Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #18-057 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING <br />ADVERTISEMENTS FOR BIDS FOR 2018 STREET OVERLAY IMPROVEMENTS, <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #18-03 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey proposes to overlay numerous street segments in 2018 <br />for the purpose of maintaining these streets as cost-effectively as possible; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council resolution #17-10-270, adopted <br />October 24, 2017, the City Engineer was ordered to prepare a Feasibility Report to study <br />the feasibility of completing pavement overlay improvements to approximately 3.5 miles of <br />bituminous pavement on numerous street segments in eight residential developments throughout <br />the City, and other appurtenant work; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council resolution #17-12-315, adopted <br />December 12, 2017, the City Council received and accepted the Feasibility Report, and a <br />Public Hearing was ordered for January 9, 2018, to consider the proposed improvements for <br />said streets in accordance with the Feasibility Report; and <br />WHEREAS, benefiting properties are proposed to be assessed for 25-percent of the cost <br />of eligible improvements, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Chapter 429, Chapter 8 of the City <br />Charter, and the City's Special Assessments Policy; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Clerk gave mailed and published notice of such hearing and <br />improvements as required by law; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Ramsey City Council resolution #18-012, adopted January 9, <br />2018, the Feasibility Report was approved following a Public Hearing, and the City Engineer <br />was designated as the engineer for this improvement and was ordered to prepare plans and <br />specifications for the making of such improvements; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Engineer has completed plans and specifications for the purpose <br />of advertising for bids for the same improvements. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />The Ramsey City Council hereby approves the final plans and specifications prepared by <br />the City Engineer for the making of such improvements, and authorizes the advertisement <br />of bids for the same improvements. <br />RESOLUTION #18-057 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
