6) <br /> <br />Update on Snnwood Drive NW <br />The Public Works Committee recommended that the City Council authorize a change <br />order for the extension of the railings near the box culverts. <br /> <br />7) <br /> <br />Parking During School Events <br /> <br />A resident of the Pondvale area had expressed concern regarding the parking during <br />school events since the parking has been restricted on C.R. #5. Staff will continue 'to <br />work with the School District to try and resolve the issues and report back at a future <br />Public Works Committee meeting. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmemher Kurak, to ratify the recommendation of <br />the Public Works Committee excluding Case #5. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Kurak, Anderson, and <br />Hendriksen. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberZimmerman. <br /> <br />Case #13: Report from Personnel Committee <br /> <br />The Personnel Committee met on October 22, 2002 to discuss the following cases: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />Authorize Hiring of Public Works Maintenance Worker <br /> <br />The Personnel Committee recommended that the City Council adopt Resolution #02~ 10- <br />277 authorizing the hiring of Aaron Madsen for the position of full-time Public Works <br />Maintenance Worker at a starting wage of $15.03/hour plus benefits and vacation per <br />City policy, contingent on successful completion of background checks, employment <br />physical, and drug/alcohol screen. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />Receive Information about Resignation/Retirement of Police Chief David Gustafson <br />The Personnel Committee recommended that the City Council adopt Resolution #02-10~ <br />278 accepting Chief David Gustafson's resignation. The Committee also recommended <br />that Council adopt Resolution #02-10-279 authorizing the appointment of James F. Way <br />to the position of Interim Police Chief. The position of Police Chief will be posted <br />internally. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Anderson, seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen, to ratify the <br />recommendations of the Personnel Committee. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
