Councilmember <br /> <br />introduced ~he following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION tt05-01- <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING MEMBERSHIP AND REPRESENTATION FOR <br />THE ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY BOPiRD <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, in 2002 the City CoUncil apPointed a seven-member Environmental Policy <br />Task Force (EPTF) to review and address the issues of tree preservation and wetland buffers in <br />the City of Ramsey; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council adopted a Tree Preservation Ordinance in 2004 and the <br />EPTF is currently working on a wetland buffer ordinance; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council 'determined that there is a need to establish a board, in <br />accordance with Chapter 2 (Boards and Commissions) of the Ramsey City Code, to assist City <br />Council with policies, plans or Projects that will enhance and preserve the City's natural <br />environment; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on December 14, 2004, .the City Council adopted an ordinance to amend <br />Chapter 2 (Boards and Commissions) of the Ramsey City Code to establish an Environmental <br />Policy Board to serve as an advisory body to the City Council. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1. The City Council hereby establishes the following membership and representation for <br /> the Environmental Policy Board: seven (7) voting members consisting of one (1) <br /> representative from each of the 4 wards and three (3) at-large positions. <br />2. The City Council hereby establishes that all voting members of the EPB shall be <br /> residents of the City. <br />3. The City Council hereby establishes that there shall be two ex-officio, non-voting <br /> appointments to the EPB consisting of a member of the City Council and a member of <br /> City Staff. <br />4. The City Council hereby establishes that there shall be one (1) non-voting student <br /> internship available on the Board; City residency is not a requirement of this <br /> internship. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br /> <br />
