The tour will likely be in October or the end of September. <br />She noted it takes about three to four weeks to coordinate this event. <br /> <br />Case/t5: A Year in Review/2005 Work Plan <br /> <br />Associate Planner Wald explained she and Economic Development/TIF Specialist Sullivan <br />requested a joint meeting with the EDA andthe Council. They would like to look receive <br />direction for 2005. They would like to recap what they have done this year and get opinion from <br />the Council and EDA regarding projects they liked and ways to improve the EDA so next year <br />they have full docket of projects.: : <br /> <br />Economic Development / TIF Specialist Sullivan indicated it is important to note the EDA did a <br />lot of work last year. One thing that was started this year was the Ramsey Business Connection <br />and tying it to QCTV to spotlight businesses. This will be a great idea to continue with. He <br />noted the Council has given them direction to be active and redevelop in the City. He reviewed <br />the following projects that the EDA has been involved with: <br /> <br />· Acquisition, demolition and clean-up of Chies and Morrell Parcels <br />· 3,825 S.F. building for Northem TeChnologies ($372,300 tax assessed value) <br />· Basalt/Azurite City Sewer, Water, Storm Sewer and Street Improvements <br />· Douglas Hanson Property (Bakestar Acquisition) <br />· Martin/Gorecki Property <br /> <br />Economic Development / TIF Specialist Sullivan reported the following: <br /> · In addition to the industrial projectsthat have been mentioned, the City has inked deals <br /> with six additional businesses totaling i71,600 S.F. in buildings and $8,036,000 in new <br /> tax assess value. These projects should be completed between now and December 2005. <br /> The developers include: Rum River Dental, Huntington Family Properties, Rotary <br /> Systems, Kalway Construction, W Properties, Building Fasteners, and TLM Cabinets. <br /> · The EDA has been involved in a project that would produce monument signs at various <br /> entry points to the City and its industrial parks. These signs not only serve as quality <br /> finishing touches to well planned industrial parks, they also help market the City as well. <br /> A detailed case will be submitted at the 'September meeting in which sign types will be <br /> decided and staff will then try to obtain costs for the specific sign types. It is hoped that <br /> financial participation will be utilized by the EDA as well as the appropriate TIF Districts <br /> to assist in this matter. <br /> <br />Associate Planner Wald reported the following: <br /> · The EDA has assisted with creating a local cable program with QCTV, which informs <br /> businesses and residents about the efforts of the EDA and showcases a Ramsey business. <br /> Along with the initiation of QCTV Ramsey Business Connection program, the EDA has <br /> provided valuable direction related to The Business Connection newsletter.
