Any customer of the City who violates this policy may be denied access to City business <br />locations. Anyone who engages in violence may be subject to criminal sanctions. <br />7.4 Domestic Violence <br />At the request of the employee, the City will attempt to make reasonable accommodations for a <br />period of time to shield or protect an employee from abuse while at work through the screening of <br />telephone calls and visitors, or other temporary measures. In accordance with Minnesota law, <br />employees may also use sick leave for "safety" leave related to domestic violence situations. <br />7.5 Appearance and Dress Policy <br />The appearance and dress of City employees has a direct reflection on the professionalism of our <br />services. A neat, well-groomed employee presents a positive image of the City and demonstrates <br />the pride of City employees. Appearance and attire have an impact on the way community <br />members perceive City staff and the confidence customers have in the City's ability to provide <br />quality services. The standard office attire for employees Monday through Friday will be Business <br />Casual or Formal Business, with some exceptions on Friday's as noted below. <br />Appropriate Business Casual or Business Attire <br />The following information should guide employees on proper dress in the work place. Although it <br />is difficult to develop a policy that will cover all individual variations in dress and style for each <br />work situation or circumstance. The following appearance and dress guidelines have been <br />established based on public perception and job safety, as follows: <br />• Suits, Pant Suits, Sport Coats <br />• Dress slacks, pants, khakis. <br />• Dress shirt with or without a tie. <br />• Dresses and skirts (no more than 3 inches above the knee). <br />• Blouses, shirts, or sweaters. <br />• Any type of business shod <br />Appropriate attire for Fr:days: <br />• Casual sweaters or`slfrino t-shirts) (slogans or advertising may not exceed 2 inches, <br />other than city logos). <br />• Casual slacks, pants, denim jeans (as long as they are in good condition with no tears or <br />holes). <br />• Capris within 3 inches of the knee. <br />• Clean athletic shoes in good condition. <br />Employees who take Friday off may not substitute another day for "casual Friday." <br />Inappropriate Attire <br />461Page <br />
