Public Works Director Kapler replied there is a postal service recommendation.

The consensus of the Council was to direct staff to send a letter of notice to the residents stating
if the property owners do not move the mailboxes the City will move them, and to discuss the
situation with the Post Master to see if the postal service recommendation can be included in the
letter. There should not be a charge assessed to the property owners if City staff moves the
mailboxes.

2) License and Registration Fees

Councihnember Elvig indicated he received a call from a gentleman who pays a $100 fee in the
City for a business license and is being asked to pay an additional $15.

Community Development Director Frolik explained the $100 fee is for the motorcycle repair
license, and the $15 is for the registration.

Councihnember Elvig explained the question of the gentleman is if there is an overlapping in the
charges.

Police Chief Way suggested the business owner be directed to Associate Planner Wald or Crime
Prevention Specialist Kreyer to answer his questions.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Pearson, to adjourn the meeting.

Motion carried.

The Work Session of the City Council adjourned at 7:18 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Carol Hamer
Recording Secretary
TimeSaver Off Site Secretarial, Inc.

City Council Work Session/November 3, 2004
Page 5 of 5
