CSAH 8 (Osborne Road NE) Roadway Modification <br />Study <br />In late 2015, Anoka County initiated a study of the one <br />mile section of Osborne Road between TH 47 (University <br />Avenue) and TH 65 (Central Avenue) to evaluate potential <br />transportation improvements to the corridor that would <br />benefit users of the roadway, as well as nearby residents. <br />The corridor study produced a preferred roadway concept <br />and final report in November 2016 that allows the cities and <br />county to pursue planning activities for the proposed one - <br />mile corridor. <br />mt <br />CSAH 8 Roadway Modification <br />Coon Rapids Boulevard/East River Road Corridor Study <br />This study completed in June 2010 identifies concepts for improving mobility, increasing <br />safety, and enhancing the appearance and economic vitality along the Coon Rapids <br />Boulevard/East River Road corridor. The study corridor included both CSAH 1 and CSAH <br />3 between 7th Avenue (CSAH 7) and TH 610. The identified concepts will be implemented <br />over time as funding opportunities arise and redevelopment occurs along the corridor. <br />East River Road (CSAH 1) Corridor Study <br />In May 2012, Anoka County, Fridley, and Coon Rapids comp eted a study that identifies <br />concepts for improving safety and mobility on East River Road (CSAH 1) while also <br />considering improvements to enhance its appearance and economic vitality. The study <br />area included the 5.1-mile segment of East River Road between Interstate 694 in Fridley <br />and Trunk Highway 610 in Coon Rapids. The study area also included the area between the <br />Mississippi River and University Avenue. The recommended improvements to East River <br />Road are planned to be implemented in discrete phases over time as funding allows. <br />Lake Drive (CSl 23) at I-354)uad 35 Area) Transportation Study <br />The completed study identifies a recommended interchange alternative for the Interstate <br />35 interchange at CSAH 23 (Lake Drive) and Trunk Highway 97 in the Cities of Columbus <br />and Forest Lake. The recommended improvement also includes the realignment of CSAH <br />54 and other local roads. The recommended improvements seek to improve quality of life, <br />promote new development, improve safety, reduce congestion, and better manage access. <br />Northern Anoka County River Crossing Study <br />The completed study by Anoka County and the Cities of St. Francis, Oak Grove and <br />Nowthen identifies future improvement needs on the existing Rum River crossings at <br />CSAH 22 (Viking Boulevard) and CSAH 24 (Bridge Street). <br />ANOKA COUNTY 2040 TRANSPORTATION PLAN UPDATE CHAPTER 6- IMPROVEMENT STRATEGIES AND IMPLEMENTATION 104 <br />
