The document consists of three parts, as defined below. <br />Program Description and Definitions — Describes the various programs used to <br />maintain the county's highway system. <br />Five -Year Highway Improvement Plan — Identifies planned and programmed projects <br />that will be built is identified. <br />Unmet Needs — Documents the existing conditions on the highway system, <br />including any known deficiencies. <br />The types of projects included in the plan are identified below. <br />Rehabilitation — Includes overlays, crack sealing, bridge maintenance, surface <br />treatments and other miscellaneous roadway repairs. <br />Traffic Management and Spot Improvements — Projects such as signal installation <br />and maintenance, signage, striping and pavement messages, access control and <br />school zone safety driver feedback signs. <br />Right -of -Way Preservation — Involves purchasing land and property rights owned by <br />private interests through direct purchase. <br />Corridor Reconstruction — Reconstruction projects often involve adding lanes to an <br />existing corridor or adding miles (length) to an existing corridor. <br />ANOKA COUNTY 2040 TRANSPORTATION PLAN UPDATE CHAPTER 6 - IMPROVEMENT STRATEGIES AND IMPLEMENTATION 107 <br />
