These projects are also identified in Table 39 by county roadway facility. A majority of the programmed projects involve pavement reconstruction and intersection improvements. There are also a handful of capacity expansion projects as well as bridge projects. Mid- to Long -Term Plan (2023-2040) As noted previously, the financial resources available to the County are uncertain extending into the mid and long term planning horizons. Given these funding uncertainties and other challenges associated with implementing transportation improvements, this planning effort does not presume specific improvements to address each of the deficiencies included in Table 39 that are not addressed in the five year program. Rather than recommending a specific improvement this plan recognize there are a range of possibilities to address many of the system deficiencies facing the County and that specific improvements to advance to implementation should be identified through more detailed studies. Furthermore, given the continually increasing costs associated with transportation improvement projects, moving forward it will be prudent for the County to assess each deficiency more closely to define solutions that balance mobility needs with costs, environmental impacts, community input, and other competing priorities.
