Adopt Resolution #17-07-133 Authorizing the Establishment of an Inter Fund Loan for TIF <br /> District#16. <br /> Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Strommen, Councilmembers Riley, Kuzma, Johns, <br /> LeTourneau, Shryock, and Williams. Voting No: None. <br /> 7. COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> 7.01: Consider Adopting Resolution #17-07-165 Approving a Curbside Recycling <br /> Contract with ACE Solid Waste <br /> City Planner Anderson reviewed the staff report and recommendation to approve the three-year <br /> curbside recycling contract with ACE Solid Waste, which would cover the years 2018-2020. <br /> Councilmember Riley asked if everyone involved has been happy with the services provided <br /> through the past several years. <br /> City Planner Anderson stated that staff has been satisfied with ACE Solid Waste and the options <br /> they offer. He noted that there was a misstep in the past when ACE converted to a new operating <br /> system and there was a delay in reaching a customer service representative but advised that has <br /> corrected itself and he continues to hear positive feedback. <br /> Councilmember LeTourneau stated that ACE Solid Waste has been consistent in terms of pricing <br /> and has been consistent in the level of service that they provide. He noted that ACE is also a <br /> community business that has stepped up to be involved in the community. <br /> Motion by Councilmember LeTourneau, seconded by Councilmember Johns, to Adopt <br /> Resolution #17-07-165 to Enter into a Three (3) Year Curbside Recycling Contract with ACE <br /> Solid Waste Inc. <br /> Motion carried. Voting No: None. <br /> 7.02: Report on Yard Waste Disposal Options <br /> City Planner Anderson reviewed the staff report, explaining that the purpose of this case is to <br /> simply outline what current opportunities exist for residents of Ramsey as a question was raised <br /> by a resident at a previous open forum. He highlighted the three different options for yard waste <br /> disposal, which include yard waste services offered by a resident's garbage hauler, the Anoka <br /> County composite sites in Coon Rapids and Lino Lakes, and local yard waste drop-off sites. <br /> Mayor Strommen asked if staff provided this input to the resident that appeared at open forum. <br /> City Planner Anderson replied that he would investigate whether staff reached out to that <br /> resident and if not, he would be happy to follow-up with that resident. <br /> City Council/July 11, 2017 <br /> Page 5 of 9 <br />
