Commissioner Johnson questioned whY there is riot road planning done in the area north of Trott <br />Brook. <br /> <br />Mr. Chromey explained that there is some connectivity shown through the area on a major <br />collector level. Corridors are shown that~ are meant to provide cross-community connectivity. <br />The intent of the residential stt~eets are to :prOVide connections between neighborhoods. He <br />indicated some flexibility should ;be left as d°vel6,pment occurs. <br /> <br />Commissioner Johnsola stated there have been a.'_ lot of developments approved north of Green <br />Valley Road, and one of the things that has b,een ichallenging is approving things that are a dead- <br />end situation. His view would b~ to give so~ethought to the roads in this area, as the plan can <br />be tweaked as needed. <br /> <br />Councihnember Elvig inquired what demographic studies were taken into account with this <br />information, as Ramsey is a collector for the entire northwest portion of the County. <br /> <br />Mr. Chromey replied the travel demand model'tgkes Anoka County into account and will be a <br />piece of the regional traffic travel model <br /> <br />Councihnember Elvig suggested greenspace be COnsidered close to the road on major arterial and <br />collector streets where people apPreciate it~ He noted this would require the houses being closer <br />together. <br /> <br />Commissioner Jeffrey questioned when the County will be communicated with regarding the <br />traffic. He stated the County shOUld be sitting at the table with the City as this is studied. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec commented the County runs.intO fUnding problems. <br /> <br />Commissioner Johnson stated :the County 'also has to deal with priorities. He stated <br />Commissioner Langfeld was incredibly SuccesSful getting a lot of funding for Lino Lakes. <br />Commissioner Berg represents Ramsey and is a k~y player in transportation. <br /> <br />Mr. Chrolney indicated building ithis roadway system will be a partnership between the City, <br />County and State. The County and State get:mOre bang for the buck when the local cities come <br />forward. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec commented Highway 10 has been mapped out with the State, and something <br />similar needs to be done with the County. <br /> <br />Commissioner Brauer expressed 'concern that : <br /> there is only one principal arterial shown. He <br />stated with the explosion on Highway 10 the City was gridlocked, and if there had been another <br />major incident in the City there would havo been problems getting people there in time. <br /> <br />Mt'. Chromey explained Highway I0 is considerad a principal arterial with the primaw purpose <br />to connect large urbanized areas.
