ARTICLE 1 PREAMBLE AND PURPOSE OF AGREEMENT <br />This AGREEMENT is entered into between the City of Ramsey, hereinafter referred to <br />as the EMPLOYER, and Local No. 2454 affiliated with Council No. 5 of the American <br />Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO, hereinafter referred to <br />as the UNION. <br />The intent and purpose of this AGREEMENT is to: <br />1.1 Place in written form the Parties' full AGREEMENT on terms and conditions of <br />employment contained herein for the stated duration of this AGREEMENT; <br />1.2 Establish procedures for the resolution of disputes concerning this <br />AGREEMENTS interpretation and/or application; <br />1.3 Prevent interruptions of work, work stoppages, strikes, or other interferences with <br />the efficient and effective rendering of services to the public during the life of the <br />AGREEMENT; and <br />1.4 <br />represented by the UNION. <br />Promote harmonious relations between the EMPLOYER and its EMPLOYEES <br />ARTICLE 2 DEFINITIONS <br />2.1 UNION: The American Federation of State, County and Municipal <br />Employees, Council No. 5, Local No. 2454, AFL-CIO. <br />2.2 UNION MEMBER: A member of the American Federation of State, County and <br />'IV1unicipal Employees, Council No. 5, Local No. 2454, AFL-CIO. <br />UNION OFFICER: Official elected or appointed by the American Federation of <br />State, County and Municipal Employees, Council No. 5, Local No. 2454, AFL- <br />CIO. <br />2.4 EMPLOYEE: A member of the exclusively recognized bargaining unit. <br />2.5 EMPLOYER: The City of Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />2.6 GRIEVANCE: A dispute or disagreement as to the interpretation or application of <br />the specific terms and conditions of this AGREEMENT. <br />2.7 DAYS: Unless otherwise indicated, means calendar days. <br />2.8 WEEK: Seven (7) days. <br />2.9 MONTH: Thirty (30) days. <br />2012 & 204 AFSCME Labor Agreement <br />4 <br />Deleted: 7 <br />Deleted: 18 <br />J <br />iJ <br />
