MAYOR/COUNCIL STAFF INPUT
The Council commended City staff on a smoothly run election. City Clerk Thieling stated that
Administrative Services Manager Colleen Lasher basically ran this election and will be running
elections from this point forward, due to her(Thieling's)phased retirement status. Clerk Thieling
stated that elections take an entire team from Administrative Services to Building Maintenance.
Everyone's role is extremely important to make certain the election runs smoothly and all rules
and regulations are adhered to. It was noted the electronic poll pads are a great addition and really
help move the lines along quickly in the polling places. Clerk Thieling also noted the number of
absentee voters and that it was a full-time job for Administrative Services during the last couple
of weeks to handle the absentee voters who came in to City Hall. She added that even though it's
more work, it's wonderful to see the large voter turnout.
Canvassing Board Meeting/November 13,2018
Page 2 of 3
