PUBLIC HEARING <br /> 6.01: Public Hearing to Consider Adoption of Resolution #18-229 Approving Feasibility <br /> Report and Ordering Plans and Specifications for Improvement Project #19-01, <br /> Ford Brook Estates Street Reconstructions <br /> Presentation <br /> City Engineer Westby reviewed the staff report and recommendation to adopt Resolution #18- <br /> 229 approving the Feasibility Report and ordering plans and specifications for Improvement <br /> Project #19-01, Ford Brook Estates Street Reconstructions. He noted that this will allow the <br /> improvements to be completed in 2019, while providing for the use of special assessments to pay <br /> for up to 25 percent of the project costs per the applicable provisions of Chapter 8 of the City <br /> Charter,the City's Special Assessments Policy, and Minnesota Statute Chapter 429. <br /> Public Hearing <br /> Acting Mayor LeTourneau called the public hearing to order at 7:20 p.m. <br /> Citizen Input <br /> Kathy Kruger, 18180 Krypton Street, stated that the bus stops in numerous locations along <br /> Highway 47 and all of a sudden,they want to redo the cul-de-sac for bus use. <br /> Acting Mayor LeTourneau stated that there is a new State Statute that does not allow a bus to <br /> stop in a turn lane of a highway, but the bus can stop in the drive lane and therefore the <br /> difference seems to be the use of the turn lane. <br /> City Engineer Westby stated that it is his understanding of the legislation and noted that he <br /> continues to have discussions with the School District. <br /> City Council/November 13,2018 <br /> Page 4 of 14 <br />
