Ramsey Municipal Center- Final Site Plan <br />February 18, 2005 : <br />Page3of5 .- ~ <br /> <br />A revised plan must be submitted. <br /> <br />Architectural Standards: In accordance with stated goals of the Town Center.project, detailed <br />information regarding the architecture has been sUbmitted for the Ramsey Municipal Center. As <br />previously mentioned, the TCTAC met on November 23, 2004 to review the architecture of the <br />preliminary design of the bUilding, In revieWing the. architecture for the proposed building, Staff and <br />the TCTAC used the latest draft of the Tom Center' Development Guidelines. Below are the <br />recommendations brought forward bY staff and the TCTAC at the preliminary site plan. In italics is a <br />description on how the recommendation was addresSed as part of the site plan. <br /> <br /> 1) The fa¢ade of Sunwood Drive shOuld be' redesigned to become more engaging with the <br /> pedestrian through more .architectural animation, more articulation, more depth, and the <br /> inclusion of some roof forms. As ipart of looking at revising 'the Sunwood Drive fagade, <br /> elements contained on thel soUth sidle of. the building should be considered for integration <br /> into the front fa~:ade. In addition, increaSing the amount of glaZing along Sunwood Drive <br /> should also be considered. <br /> <br /> Final Site Plan Submittal: The revised plan shows additions to the Sunwood Drive fagade <br /> in order to make it more engaging :;to the pedestrian. The final site plan shows additional <br /> material around the windows that ivill project outwards and give more articulation to the <br /> faqade. In addition, the Window Panes. ~will now arranged in a way that will make them <br /> more interesting than the PreviOus Site plan. The final site plan also adds lintels above the <br /> windows that will give some more definition and articulation to the window forms. There <br /> will a raised wall (2' in heighO that Will:come out to meet the pedestrian that will provide <br /> for more depth to the loOt~ of the facade.:, After review of possibilities, the same roof forms <br /> are shown on the final ,ire plan aS indicated on the preliminary site plan. In regards to <br /> glazing, the removal of windows~i~to the Council Chambers as well as next to the main <br /> entrance has reduced the Overall amount of glazing along Sunwood Dr. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />The parking area in the nOrtheast part of the site should be removed and replaced with an <br />extension of the building and/Or aPpropriate screening.. <br /> <br />Final Site Plan Submittal: The final site plan shows a reduction of the original parking <br />area with a screening wall of lO feet in height. The wall will have the same stone exterior <br />aa' the EOC faqade. The inclUSion of the screening wall makes the location of the parking <br />area acceptable. <br /> <br />The waste disposal area should be removed from its present location or should be located <br />inside. ~ <br /> <br />Final Site Plan Submittal: The trash dumPSter is now located behind the screening wall and no <br />longer visible from:Sunwood Drive. City Ordinances do require the waste storage area be <br />screened on all four sides. From the plans 3Ubmitted, Staff is unsure if the waste storage area <br /> <br /> <br />
