This <br />is the required action being asked for tonight. <br /> <br />Councihnember Strommen requeSted clarificatiOn of the redevelopment area. <br /> <br />Finance Officer Lund replied the redevelOpment area is the entire Town Center site, and will <br />include the area on the other side0f the rajkoad tracks. She explained this will be a 1-½ month <br />process that will go through the EDA, City COuncil, and Planning Commission. Final adoption <br />will be in March. ; <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tern Elvig requested language be included regarding state requirements for <br />quantifying an area as a redevelopment area. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to adopt Resolution #05- <br />02-051 Initiating Process for Approval of RedeVelopment Project Area; and to call for a public <br />hearing on the Redevelopment P1an for March 8, 2005. <br /> <br />Motion can'ied. Voting Yes: Mayor Pro Tem Elvig, Councilmembers Cook, Olson, Jeffrey, <br />Pearson, and Strommen: Voting No: Nono. AbSent: Mayor Gamec. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />1) Historical Bell <br /> <br />Councihnember Pearson asked if staff has been in contact with Mr. Ray Renner regarding the <br />bell. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson replied she and Police Chief Way met with Mr. Renner <br />today and discussed the potential location for the bell. She informed Mr. Renner she would <br />discuss it with the Facilities Committee. This information will be brought forward to the <br />Council. Mr. Renner provided her witha boOk with pictures and the history of how he acquired <br />the bel I. <br /> <br />Councilmember Olson suggested an area be .cOnsidered for keeping historic pieces that come to <br />the City as they move forward with the Municipal ~Center. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator NelsOn replied staff has thought about locating a case in the lobby. <br />There will be a display in the Police Department about how their technology has improved. <br /> <br />2) Future Meetings <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman reported ithe °l~en ihouse regarding the aligmnent of the sanitary <br />server and water system was held' last night. <br /> <br />City CounCil/February <br /> page 29 of 30 <br /> <br />8, 2005 <br /> <br /> <br />
