Similarly, a list of immediate <br />major challenges or "focus points" that must be addressed, mastered, and <br />resolved during 2005-2'006 was developed. <br /> <br />1. Strategic Focus Areas <br /> <br />The Strategic Focus Areas are the predominant factors or issues <br />that have major/disproportionate influence over the nature and <br />quality of the future a community will experience. Strategic Focus <br />Areas must be identified and i~ffluenced/guided toward the desired <br />outcomes the community desires for its future. <br /> <br /> The following' Strategic Focus Areas were identified: <br /> <br />a. planned growth and development of the City. <br />b. Residential redevelopment.. <br />c. Success of the Ramsey Town Center. <br />d. All modes of regional and local transportation. <br />e. Protection and connection of greenway spaces. <br />f. Recreational area expansion and development. <br />g, Educational facilities needs at all levels. <br />h. Municipal facility and infrastructure needs. <br />i. Embracing and celebrating the diversity existing and <br /> enjoyed throughoUt the community. <br />j. Availability of medical facilities required to handle <br /> healthcare needs of the Community. <br />k. Future boundaries and corporate limits of the City of <br /> Ramsey. <br />1. Expanding levels ofservice appropriate to address the <br /> needs of the growing community. <br />m. EstabliShing a unique identity for the CitY of Ramsey. <br /> <br />There were nine Strategic Focus Areas identified at the 2004 City <br />Leadership WOrkshop. This list now has expanded to 13. The <br />changes and additions to the Strategic Focus Areas list reflect a <br />more mature and sophisticated view of the strategic issues and <br />factors shaping the future of the City'°f Ramsey. <br /> <br />Immediate (20105-2006) Major Challenges the City must address, <br />master, and resolve. <br /> <br />The participants in their discussions identified the following list of <br />"focUs points" that needed to be addressed through definite <br />performance objectives during 2005-2006: <br /> <br />a.
