P26 <br /> <br />Preparation of Specific Performance Objectives to be achieved in support <br />of each goal during years 2005 and 2006. <br /> <br />During the workshop, the participants listed the focus points that need to <br />be addressed during 2005 and 2006 in furtherance of the implementation <br />of the council's long-term goals. The management team should create <br />Management Action Plans (MAPs), which will include the following for <br />each if the focus points defined for a specific goal: <br /> <br />· Specific performance objectives to be achieved during 2005 and 2006. <br /> <br />Identification of key action steps to be undertaken toward the <br />attainment of each performance obi ective. <br /> <br />· Identification of other considerations that need to be addressed to. <br /> ensure the successful attainment of the performance objective. <br /> <br />Once the management team has prepared these Management Action <br />Plans (MAPs), they should be reviewed with city council Co ensure all <br />parties understand what is proposed to be achieved during 2005 and <br />2006 in terms of management performance, budget preparation <br />requirements, etc. <br /> <br />Providing a copy of the goals, performance objectives, and key elements <br />of the council-staff partnership to all council and management team <br />members. <br /> <br />During the workshop, the mayor proposed that a copy of the goals, <br />performance objectives, and key elements of the council-staffpartnership <br />be available in an appropriate form to all council and management team <br />members. This form should be: <br /> <br />· A constant reminder to all parties of the city's goals, performance <br /> objectives, and they key elements of the council-staff partnership. <br /> <br />A ready reference document, that can be used during occasional <br />discussions conducted between the council and the staff about progress <br />being made on atta~nmenf of the goals, achievement of the <br />performance objectives for 2005-2006, and maintaining and <br />strengthening an already highly productive council-staffpartnership. <br /> <br />20 <br /> <br /> <br />
