People in this area would love to walk to the park, <br />but cannot get across the road and are forced to drive to the park. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec noted at one time the City looked into a funding for a walkway bridge to the park, <br />and it was never followed through on. There are several cities getting those walkways now. He <br />suggested a request be submitted for a bridge, and noted the land is currently vacant. The Public <br />Works Committee recommended that the feasibility study be prepared outlining the proposed <br />improvements and associated costs 'of improving Welcome's Road with the understanding that <br />the City will provide 50 percent of the funding contingent upon the petition being verified for <br />compliance with the required number of property owner signatures. <br /> <br />Councitmember Elvig noted Welcome's Road petitioned Public Works last year to realign the <br />dirt road, which has moved as much as three feet.
