This engine is located in Station #1 in he west portion of the city and will be 22 years old at time of replacement. The Fire Department
attempts to keep engines on a 20-year replacement cycle for the purpose of maintaining a reliable piece of equipment, limiting repair cost and providing new technology that benefits the
firefighters in the form of efficiency and safety. Maintenance costs for this vehicle will begin to increase more rapidly with age. The fire department also benefits from modern equipment by
attracting perspective firefighter applicants from Ramsey and the surrounding communities.
