Councihnember Cook thought they needed to find out which affected property owners would be
more willing to sell some of their land for easement in order to make a decision as to which
alignment they should go with.

Counci hnember Pearson asked on the Comp Plan if any of the alignments had been drawn.

Mi'. Olson stated some have and it has not changed since 1991.

Councilmember Pearson thought they should use the same procedure they have followed in the
past.

Mi'. Olson thought there should be some public input but they have known from the beginning
that there is a difference between the Comp Plan process and a sewer alignment process. This is
talking about real impacts to a resident and construction impacts and acquisition and that is why
lie needs to notify the impacted residents.

Mayor Gamec stated what the residents are concerned about is not where the alignment will be
but that the City will force them t° hook up.

Mt'. Trudgeon stated they need to have the alignment meeting but they are struggling with how to
notify the public of the alignment. He stated they could put the information in the newsletter,
mailings, and website and on the iCity billboard to notify the residents of what is going on. He
stated there will be a public meeting open to everyone.

Council consensus was to notify the affected property owners for input and to put the information
on the website.

Councihnember Zimmerman asked for an update on the Comp. Plan.

Mr. Trudgeon updated the Council.

Mi'. Martini finished up his presentation for the City Council.

Mt'. Trudgeon asked if the CounCil would rather avoid going through wetlands.

Mayor Gamec stated it depended on environmental issues but he thought this may be ideal by
putting a trail through wetlands and improving the wetlands.

Mayor Gamec asked if they were going to clean up ditches before dewatering.

Mi'. Olson stated tie did not want to preclude they were going to go forward with the aligmnent
but he thought the ditches should be cleaned up whether they do the project or not.

Councihnember Cook thought the most direct route and would be the least impact to residents
would be through the wetlands if they do not cause future problems for the wetlands.

City Council Work Session/December 6, 2004
Page 7 of 8
