Commissioner Ostrum thought they could publish which district they would be working on for
public input.
Park/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood agreed with the Commission and thought they should
discuss these by district. Another step would be to schedule a joint meeting with the Planning
Commission to discuss the general planning concepts.
Chairperson Johns thought this was a good idea.
Commissioner Shryock thought as they head into the individual districts and parks, they should
look at accessible pathways that get them everywhere. She thought this would be beneficial to
everyone.
Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood stated that was an excellent suggestion and it is their
objective to obtain accessibility to every amenity in the park.
Commissioner LaMere thought Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood did a good job of keeping
trails in mind when planning a park.
Commissioner Ostrum stated he would like to see districts based on where they are-at in the CIP
plan.
COMMISSION/STAFF INPUT
Note: Armstrong Boulevard Trail—Alpine to Central Park—Citizen Email
It was noted an email came in and was circulated through the City Council regarding the trail
along Armstrong Boulevard.
Central Park Upgrade (seating and bathroom)
There was no discussion regarding this item.
Master Trail Plan
There was no discussion regarding this item.
Commissioner Ostrum wondered how soon they would want to start discussion on the different
districts.
Chairperson Johns thought they would want to start right away.
It was noted the next meeting will be November 18th at 6:30 p.m. because of Veterans Day.
Park and Recreation Commission/October 14,2004
Page 5 of 6
