Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood stated they have not put them up but they do have them <br /> and he would be sure to get them up in the parks. He stated they have already lost a lot of their <br /> seasonal help this year which has been hard. <br /> Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood explained as an outcome of a meeting with MNRA they <br /> were able to call attention to they have not had a lot of progress in Ramsey with connecting it to <br /> Anoka. They have a proposal for trails to connect this. <br /> Civil Engineer II Linton apologized for the light agenda lately but he stated the development <br /> scene has died lately. He stated they have not had much going on. He was not aware of anything <br /> that has come in for the October meeting as far as plats. <br /> Chairperson Johns thought it would be a good time for the Commission to discuss planning more <br /> extensively. <br /> Capital Improvement Program Process: <br /> Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood updated the Commission on the process modifications. <br /> He thought the CIP should happen concurrently with review process with the Commission in <br /> order to go forward to the Council. <br /> Chairperson Johns thought North Park pond should be added in the next three to five years. She <br /> mentioned that something that was brought up by a baseball interest at Central Park, they want to <br /> build a "stadium" at central park. She explained the Association thinks the field is really good <br /> but they want to install seating and a building with bathrooms, concession and storage. She <br /> stated the Association told her they will work on trying to put together funding packets. <br /> Park/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood wondered if they wanted City funds for this. <br /> Chairperson Johns thought they will try to find outside sources with some help from engineering <br /> to do some work. <br /> Chairperson Johns thought there needed to be a building at Elmcrest Park and she thought the <br /> Lion's club could help out funding wise. <br /> Commissioner Shryock wondered if the Lions would want to rename the park to "Lions Park" if <br /> they contribute to the cost of the building. <br /> Chairperson Johns did not know if she would go along with that but they could put up a sign or <br /> shelter or something. <br /> Chairperson Johns stated Central Park needed the buildings improved. <br /> Commissioner Olds thought they should think about themeing the parks instead of having every <br /> park the same. <br /> Park and Recreation Commission/September 9,2004 <br /> Page 7 of 8 <br />
