<br />3)Park and Recreation Commission Special Meeting and Workshop Minutes dated June 25, <br />2003 <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Johns, Commissioners Shryock, Olds, LaMere, <br />Lehman and Ostrum. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Rolfe. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Recommend Park Dedication for Duck Ridge <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos presented the draft July Planning Commission case relating to <br />Duck Ridge, which consisted of a four lot urban subdivision directly southeast of Peltzer Park and <br />th <br />west of the Savanna Trail. He noted it is apparent a connection from 149 Lane to Garnet Street <br />is important for new and existing residents to access the City’s parks and trails. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos explained that this connection could be a concrete sidewalk or a <br />bituminous trail. Staff is recommending that no credit is given for this link, as staff is also <br />th <br />recommending a sidewalk is not necessary along 149 – and this link would be less expensive than <br />a sidewalk. Further, other developments have not received credit for similar cul-de-sacs ‘links’. <br />As a point of additional information, he advised that staff expects that Outlot A will be dedicated <br />to the City for public purposes. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ostrum questioned if the connection could be from cul-de-sac to cul-de-sac. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos stated the best location for the connection is along Lot 4, Block <br />1. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Ostrum, seconded by Commissioner Olds, to recommend the developer <br />th <br />put in an 8-foot trail along the western property line of Lot 4, Block 1 connecting 149 and <br />Garnet Street. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Johns, Commissioners Ostrum, Olds, LaMere, Lehman <br />and Shryock. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Rolfe. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Olds, seconded by Commissioner Shryock, to recommend park and trail <br />fees be met by a cash contribution. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Johns, Commissioners Olds, Shryock, LaMere, Lehman <br />and Ostrum. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Rolfe. <br /> <br />Case #2: Review June 25, 2003 Town Center Centralized Park Space Meeting <br />Summary <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Boos presented the June 25, 2003 Town Center Centralized Park Space <br />meeting summary and explained the purpose of this case is to review the summary for correction <br />Park and Recreation Commission/July 10, 2003 <br />Page 2 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
