Mayor Gamec stated that for the first time Anoka has become a lot more positive about <br />supporting improvements to the Highway #10 corridor. He suggested that a joint meeting be <br />scheduled with Ramsey and Anoka. <br />Councilmember Zimmerman questioned the timetable for completing the official mapping process. <br />Mr. Tinklenberg explained that they have been pushing the State to move forward with the official <br />mapping process. They are continuing to work toward the official mapping being completed near <br />the expiration date of the moratorium. <br />Jodi Ruehle, The Tinklenberg Group, noted that they have worked with City staff to make sure <br />there is some interim control along Highway #10 in the event there is some time period between <br />the expiration of the moratorium and the completion of the official mapping process. <br />Councilmember Cook stated that it was very important to him that they do not extend the <br />moratorium passed the six months. Mr. Cook indicated that the Tinklenberg Group was <br />requesting $25,000 to continue their work and inquired if they would be willing to take ten <br />percent of what the funding they bring into the City instead. Since the City has received $200,000 <br />they would receive $20,000. <br />Mr. Tinklenberg replied that it is against the law for them to take a percentage of what they bring <br />in from State and federal funding. <br />Mayor Gamec thanked the Tinklenberg Group for all the work they have done to date. <br />Mr. Tinklenberg replied that they have enjoyed working on the project. He noted that he is <br />currently discussing with the staff the feasibility of sending some of the Councilmembers out to <br />Washington in late January early February to meet with some of the key people to discuss the <br />projects going on in the City. <br />Dan Krom, The Tinklenberg Group, noted that some of the local projects that are presented early <br />and are well packaged have been successful over the last couple of years. He felt that were plenty <br />opportunities to get additional funding requests. <br />Director of Public Works Olson noted that City Administrator Norman recommended that the <br />funding come from the balance of the Council contingency fund. <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Cook, to recommend that the City <br />Council authorize staff to enter into an agreement with The Tinklenberg Group in the amount of <br />$25,000 to continue their work along the Highway #10 corridor with the funds coming from the <br />Council contingency fund. <br />Motion carried.
