Chairperson Nixt stated he concurred with Staff and their desire to encourage other businesses to <br />comply. However, the City is trying to improve the image of Highway 10 and this is not the path <br />the City wants to take. He said if he knew this applicant would come back next year to improve <br />his property, he would be more inclined to approve the request. He said his inclination is to not <br />grant the permit because it is in the Highway 10 district. <br /> <br />Mr. Wilson, applicant, stated he does plan on paving this area next year. The vehicles would be <br />stored on a non-paved area. No sales will take place in this area. He stated that an r.v. would be <br />brought to the paved area for showing and selling. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Brauer to recommend City Council <br />adopt Findings of Fact favorable to the applicant relating to a request from Chelsea Autos for an <br />interim use permit for short term outdoor storage as an accessory use at 7665 Hwy. #10 N.W. <br />through May 31, 2002. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Nixt, Commissioners Brauer, Reeve, Sweet, and <br />Watson. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Johnson and Kociscak. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Nixt, seconded by Commissioner Reeve to recommend City Council <br />approve Chelsea Autos’ request for an interim use permit and adopt a Resolution declaring terms <br />of the Interim Use Permit to allow for short term outdoor storage as an accessory use at 7665 <br />Hwy. #10 N.W., based on the findings of fact, until June 1, 2002. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Absent: Commissioners Johnson and Kociscak. <br /> <br />Case #4: Request for a Preliminary Plat Review of Sunfish Business Park; Case of City <br />of Ramsey <br /> <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt closed the regular portion of the Planning Commission meeting at 7:21 p.m. in <br />order to call the public hearing to order. <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br /> <br /> <br />Chairperson Nixt called the public hearing to order at 7:21 p.m. <br /> <br />Presentation <br /> <br /> <br />Community Development Assistant Wald stated that the City of Ramsey is in the process of <br />platting four commercial lots and one outlot in the proposed Sunfish Business Park generally <br />located east of County Road #116 and south of Sunwood Drive. The subject property is zoned <br />Industrial and consists of approximately 44 acres. The preliminary plat is proposing to plat four <br />commercial lots ranging from 7.6 acres to 14.0 acres in size. Star Exhibits will be developing an <br />office and warehouse facility consisting of 185,000 square feet on Lot 1, Block 1.
